Your budget DOT/SNELL 2000 approved MX helmet. I particularly like this
helmet as I can put it on without taking my glasses off first due to the
long chin bar.
Denniskirk.com
had these on closeout for $35 from the MSRP of $150 recently. Stock up while
you can!
SixSixOne 2008 Competition (COMP) Suit (L)
I upgraded to this from my Icon
Field Armor Vest (on K²'s
recomendation) in order to have some shoulder padding and I wanted attached
elbow pads so, that they would stop sliding down to my wrists.
It's comfortable, breathes well and does the job. However, I might try
an XL next time as it's a little short for my 6'3" frame.
Here's some alternatives I looked at.
Icon Field Armor Vest
I got this is because the wall at a flat track race started to look really close.
It's comfortable, seems to do the job and fits easily under my jersey.
I upgrade to some body armor (above) but, it's still a decent set of armor
- I may move it over to street use but, for the moment it's a spare.
Moose XCR Boot Bag off-road.com
reviewed 'em recently. Alpinestars
makes another budget alternative if you're so inclined.
The boots in the bag vary as they wear out and I replace 'em with whatever's
on sale. Here's a short list of boots that I've abused:
I buy 'em in boxes of 100/200 from
sharpesafety.com and that'll
last me a couple years. I use the Max Lite's just because they have the
highest decibel rating I could find. The cord is optional.
